For those of you with enough experience to relate to the phrase, " you get what you pay for" you can relate to a story of  one of our current new customers who came to use after dealing with sub standard service from multiple companies.   


The customer, an elderly widow had a "friend of the family" in the HVAC business to install a unit 3 years ago to service an addition that was put on to their house.  (tThe addition was put on many years prior, but they tried to use the original system to cool the addition..but that didn't work) . 

This summer, the unit was longer cooling, and so a large well known HVAC company was called to check it out (as the original installer did not return phone calls). ...

78/10.... that is the number to remember as a rule of thumb.   Most Energy Companies recommend setting your thermostat at 78 degrees in the middle of summer....of course for many that may seem a bit high and uncomfortable - so we have to take that recommendation with a grain of salt, as we all know that utility companies are more interested in managing capacity to prevent brown/blackouts during the hot summer months and keep their customers and regulators happy, than significantly reducing their revenue flows from reduced energy usage.


10 is the percent of additional energy needed for every degree you keep your home below 78 degrees.   More energy usage = higher utility bills.    So if you keep your home at 74 degrees vs. 78 degrees during t...

Below is a photo of a recent heat pump we serviced.  The customer was experiencing very little heating.  This unit was serviced by another HVAC company last year and they told the homeowner everything checked out fine at that time, so either the family pet that is in this back yard really is shedding a lot of hair or something got overlooked in the servicing of this unit last year.
